Exhibition “Declassified – The secret of the Teufelsberg”
“Declassified – The Secret of the Teufelsberg” takes visitors to mysterious and previously closed parts of the Teufelsberg for the first time. Areas of the former listening station, which played a central role in the Cold War, are brought to life through large-format photographs, audio stations, installations and film projections. The exhibition is complemented by interviews with contemporary witnesses, including a former American wiretapping analyst and the former editor-in-chief of Der Spiegel, who talk about the significance of Teufelsberg in international security. Discover the path of the Teufelsberg, from its origins as a mountain of rubble after the Second World War, through its role as a listening station during the Cold War, to its current use as a cultural and artistic site.
The “Declassified” exhibition was conceived by °pha Architekten BDA from Potsdam and realized in collaboration with a large number of artists and historians. The parts of the complex, some of which were in a state of severe disrepair, were carefully secured and the exhibits were carefully placed to tell the story of this special place in a unique way.
A visit to the exhibition is included in the regular admission price. The new Teufelsberg store is also located in the entrance area, where you can buy exciting literature and great souvenirs by local and international artists.
